At the first Social Meeting of the year, DELTA Members and Friends were joined by various Ringmer residents to hear a talk given by the Sussex Air Ambulance. The speaker gave a very interesting presentation of the history and operation of the air ambulance in our area which was very reassuring. After the talk a raffle was held and the proceeds donated to the Air Ambulance.

Whilst in hospital, DELTA Club Member Howard Cook died age 44. Howard had been a member of DELTA for over 10 years. During this time he served on the committee and was very well liked. He married Laura in 2005 and they both enjoyed their time together.

Howard's funeral is to be held on Friday, 18 Dec 09 at Malling Church, Lewes.

Our thoughts go out to Laura and Howard's parents, Margaret and Ron Cook.

At the ESDA AGM held at the Uckfield Civic Centre on Friday, 23 October 2009, Edwina Morris, DELTA's webmistress received an Outstanding Service Award from Lady Jane Lloyd, the President of ESDA.

This award is a reflection of service given to create and maintain DELTA's website in a speedy manner, and other admin and practical tasks as required.

I would like to thank all involved in nominating me for this award.

On Saturday, 26 September 2009, DELTA held its annual Coffee Morning & Table Top Sale in Ringmer Village Hall.The event was organised by the Member's Representative Jim who had managed to provide a number of tables for different stallholders. These included tombola, cards, cakes, bric-a-brac stalls and a raffle. Despite numbers of people attending being down on last year, DELTA managed to raise £543.70 which was excellent. Thanks go to everyone involved.
